Walden O'Dell
From What Really Happened Wiki
- Walden O'Dell was a strong Supporter of presidential candidate George Walker Bush while CEO of Diebold Election Systems , a subsidiary of the "144 year old company" Diebold, which is involved in manufacturing ATM machines, bank vaults and security systems. This subsidiary once called Diebold Election Systems is now re-named Premier Election Solutions.
- Mr. O'Dell had been confirmed attending a benefit for George Walker Bush at his Texas Crawford Ranch called 'Rangers and Pioneers' and he was a staunch supporter of the Republican Party.
- Mr. O'Dell had put together a benefit dinner at his house in Columbus, Ohio at $1,000 per person to benefit the Ohio Republican Party . Coincidentally this helped Kenneth 'Ken' Blackwell, Ohio's Secretary of State who ended up giving a voting machine contract to Diebold, in spite of being repeatedly requested not to by members within the State government due to security concerns with the equipment and other reasons.
- Walden left Diebold in December of 2005 for 'personal reasons', although it was alleged that Mr. O'Dell was involved in internal trading and securities fraud. He was replaced by Diebold President and Chief Operating Officer Thomas Swidarski, who held many positions within Diebold including Senior Vice President, Vice President. Mr Swidarski had also given $2,000 to the Bush campaign in 2004.
